Ten Commandments in End Times Bible Prophecy

Did you know that God's law, the ten commandments are also mentioned in end time Bible prophecy and has a major role to play in end time events? Many Christians fail to realise that God's law is a central figure in the book of Revelation, dealing with the end times, and they also fail to realise that the mark of the beast is connected to the ten commandments.

Revelation 12:17 ...'And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, AND have the testimony of Jesus Christ.'

As you can see, it is those who are keeping God's commandments who Satan is angry with and "makes war" with them. Why isn't Satan angry and making war with professing Christians who don't keep God's law? Because if you are not keeping God's law, then you are living in sin, because as John said ... 'for sin is the transgression of the law' (1 John 3:4) ... So if you believe that Jesus did away with the ten commandments and you need not keep them anymore, then Satan is pleased and will not be angry with you.

Now as we have stated before in this site, we are not saved by keeping the law of God. We are saved by grace which is a free gift. But anyone who has accepted that gift should WANT to keep God's law and obey the one who saved us. As you will see from the end time Bible verse above, it is not JUST keeping the ten commandments that causes Satan to be angry with us. It is also having the testimony of Christ Jesus. What is the "testimony" of Jesus?

Revelation 19:10 ...'And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.'

So God's remnant people, the one's who Satan is angry with and making war with, are those who are keeping God's commandments and have the "spirit of prophecy". In other words, they have a special understanding of Bible prophecy that the majority of other professing Christians don't have.

Ten Commandments and Mark of the Beast

So what connection does the mark of the beast have with the ten commandments? Well, take a look at the following Bible verse describing those who DO NOT take the mark of the beast.

Revelation 14:12 ...'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.'

This is interesting. This verse comes directly after the angel warning us about taking the mark of the beast. So to not take the mark of the beast, what do we need to do? Keep the commandments of God! Now the majority of Christians believe that the mark of the beast is going to be a physical mark, like a microchip, tattoo or ID card, and yet God reveals that those who DON'T take the mark are not the one's who refuse to take a physical mark, they are the one's KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS and the faith of Jesus Christ, and they end up receiving God's seal. So the mark of the beast clearly has something to do with the commandments of God.

Remember the story of Daniel being thrown into the lions den? What was the only thing that the men who were against Daniel could do to make Him go against the law of the land? ... Daniel 6:5 ...'Then said these men, we shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of His God.' ... They had to find something concerning God's law to "make war" against him. And this is exactly what Satan is going to do against God's people near the end with the mark of the beast. He is going to bring about a certain law that will go against God's ten commandments and this will be the mark of the beast. Eternity for Those Who Keep God's Law

Again let me state, we are not saved because of our works or keeping the ten commandments. We are saved by the grace of Christ Jesus who lived a perfect life and died for our sins. It is only by Christ's righteousness that we can be saved. BUT, those of us who accept this grace should make every effort to obey God and keep His eternal moral law contained in the ten commandments. It is by our works that our faith is proved to be either true or false. No one can be truly converted and continue to live in open willful sin against God's law, and the following Bible verses will show that it is only those Christians who have obeyed God and turned away from sin that will inherit eternal life with Christ Jesus.

Revelation 22:14 ...'Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.'

Does this verse say "blessed are they that believe in Jesus only"? No, it says that they who DO God's Commandments will enter into eternal life. You see, sin cannot enter into heaven. So if we are still living in open sin and rebellion against God's law when Jesus returns, then there cannot be a place for us in the New Kingdom. Our life now is to prepare us to live in God's kingdom. We cannot expect to continue living in sin now without any thought about turning away from it and expect Jesus to transform us into perfect beings to enter into heaven when He returns at the second coming. No, we must prepare now and turn away from sin now and let Jesus transform our characters now, so that we are ready for Him when He returns. Bible sanctification is an ongoing process of following Christ and turning away from the things of this world and our sinful flesh.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ...'Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.'

Ephesians 5:5 ...'For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.'

Do you see who it is that will NOT enter into God's Kingdom? Those who continue to live in willful sin. There are many professing Christians who believe that Christ has "freed" them from God's law and are free to continue living worldly lives just because they "believe" in Jesus. They are in grave danger by thinking and living this way.

As you can see, God's ten commandments are an intergral part of end times Bible prophecy and will play a major role in the end times. Satan is at war with those who keep the commandments of God. The end time saints are those who are keeping the commandments of God. And it is only those who do His commandments that will enter into the city of God.

By the grace of God we are saved. And because of that we love Him and will keep His commandments ... John 14:15 ... 'If ye love me, keep my commandments.'
